A TATTOO apprentice from Aston Fields will be shaving off her hair and getting a funny inking in memory of her grandmother to raise funds for the Alzheimer’s Society.
Ellie Dodd lost her grandmother to the condition and now wants to raise money to help find a cure.
She has vowed to lose her locks and have the ‘funny tattoo’ done if the £1,000 target is reached.
The 19-year-old is even planning to live-stream the shave and the tattoo being created on her Facebook on June 18.
She said: “It was truly heartbreaking watching me and my family slowly become unrecognisable to her.”
She has fond memories of her grandmother singing.
“Whenever we had music playing she would peacefully hum and sing along when she had the strength to.”
Ellie added she also wanted to raise awareness and understanding of Alzheimer’s which affects 850,000 people in the UK alone.
