A STRETCH of Cock Hill Lane in Rubery was cordoned off on Saturday and armed police were sent to the area after officers received information a wanted man was inside a flat in Rushmore House.

The incident happened at 5.30pm when residents were told to lock their doors and stay inside their properties.

The man was wanted for questioning over a knife attack on October 22 that left a man with cuts.

The police stormed the building and searched several flats but the suspect was not found.

Enquiries are continuing to locate the man.

The road was re-opened later on Saturday night.
