Appeal - Bromsgrove care home staff hope festive cheer is on the cards

Bromsgrove Editorial 27th Nov, 2020   0

A CARE home has launched an appeal to Bromsgrove people to send Christmas cards to its residents to spread some festive cheer.

Heathbrook House, Worcester Road, is hoping the gesture will help end the tough year on a cheerful note and make those living there feel more connected to the community.

Staff say them knowing people are thinking of them will bring comfort and joy.

For many, Christmas is a time of joy, celebration and family, but for some it can be a lonely and emotional time, reflecting on loved ones who have passed.

Heathbrook House staff want to do all it can to give its residents have a fun-filled Christmas but know it will be difficult for some who do not have any relatives while others will be unable to see their families.

The home’s manager Natasha Walmsley said residents had always enjoyed receiving Christmas cards.

“The Bromsgrove community has really come together this year so we’re hoping the same spirit can help rally lots of Christmas cheer.

“In these unprecedented times, a show of community support like this would really boost everyone’s spirits in the home and make it an even merrier Christmas.”

Cards can be posted to Heathbrook House Bupa Care Home, 223-229 Worcester Road, Stoke Heath, Bromsgrove, B61 7JA.
