MORE than £3,000 was raised for Birmingham Women’s Hospital last weekend by a group of runners from Bromsgrove.
The 11-strong group, who all work for Bromsgrove’s AFH Financial Group, ran the Birmingham 10k in times ranging from 48 minutes to one hour, 34 minutes.
The team managed to smash the original target of £1,000 by raising money through AFH staff, advisers, clients, friends and family.
AFH’s charity co-ordinator Jenny Read, said: “Despite it being the hottest day of the year, it was totally worth pushing through the pain-barrier.
“We never imagined we would beat our target three times over, it was a wonderful demonstration of the affection everyone feels for the Women’s Hospital.”
In 2018 the AFH staff have raised almost £4,500 for the hospital by participating in various charitable activities.
The next big event will be on July 21 when the team will be scaling Snowdon.
