A man in his 80s has died following a crash in Bromsgrove on Tuesday night

A MAN in his 80s has died following a crash in Bromsgrove on Tuesday night (May 1).

Witnesses are being sought of the fatal collision which occurred along the A491 Sandy Lane at about 10.15pm.

Officers are investigating after a black Vauxhall Astra, which was travelling from the direction of junction four, and a Scania P410 HGV collided with one another.

The driver of the Astra – a man in his 80s – suffered injuries and was taken to hospital.




He has since died.

A passenger in the Astra – a man in his 50s – was also taken to hospital but was subsequently released while the driver of the Scania was uninjured.


Enquiries are currently ongoing but police would like to speak with any witnesses to the incident or people who saw the vehicles and the manner in which they were being driven prior to the collision.

Anyone with information is asked to call West Mercia Police on 101 quoting incident number 813S of 1 May.
