IT WILL be sponges and soapy water at the ready when the 1st Lickey Scout Group holds its latest charity car wash in Cofton Hackett.

The event will take place between 8.30am and midday at Howden’s Joinery next Saturday, June 15.

Peter Dodman, the assistant district commissioner from Scouts Bromsgrove, said: “We would like to thank Howden’s once again for allowing us to use their car park for this community event.”

He added the demand for scouting was growing with more young people wanting to join.

Scout groups are always on the lookout for volunteers.
