BROMSGROVE Folk Club welcomes York-based duo Union Jill to Catshill Club at 8pm tonight (Thursday).
Sharon Winfield and Helen Turner, are singers, instrumentalists and songwriters showcasing a variety of strong songs in an upbeat style.
Snappy and upbeat, their vocals are as tight as a drum and they have a blend of voices good enough to be siblings.
They weave spellbinding effects with their rich harmonies.
Taking their inspiration from a wide range of styles, Union Jill bring their own energy and passion to the acoustic music scene.
The pair mixes traditional folk instruments, such as guitars, mandola and concertina, with an edgy contemporary feel and powerful vocal delivery and Sharon and Helen’s ability to tell a story through lyrics appeals to audiences of all ages and backgrounds. Their on-stage banter is also second to none.
Admission tonight is £9 for non-members (who are always made to feel more than welcome), £7 for members and £3.50 for under 25s
