A BROMSGROVE super slimmer-turned consultant starts her whole new career this evening (Wednesday), helping other people change their lives and achieve their weight loss dreams too.
Emmaline joined her local Slimming World group in Stoke Prior in July 2018 and has gone from strength-to-strength.
She has undergone her training as a Consultant for Slimming World, the UK’s largest group-based weight loss organisation, at the company’s national training academy in Derbyshire.
Members at the group have been welcoming Emmaline as their new Consultant as she took over on Wednesday, September 18.
The latest Government figures reveal that around one in four adults are obese and it is estimated that, by 2034, this will increase to one in three.
The shocking statistics show 63.3 per cent of Bromsgrove’s population is now overweight or obese, and Emmaline says her new role has never been more important.
She said: “Obesity and diet related illnesses are huge issues across the UK.
“When I first joined Slimming World as a member, I never dreamed that I would end up helping other people to lose weight but now I just can’t wait to get started.
“I’ve completed my training with Slimming World and start a degree in Nutrition in the same week.
“It’s been such a turnaround!
“It’s a privilege for me to be able to pass on the experience, insight and understanding that helped me, so that I can give my members the support they need to get to target.
“Like a lot of slimmers, I had tried to lose weight so many times before by following numerous diets but they were never sustainable because I’d always get tired of restricting what I ate.
“How with Slimming World I never felt like I was on a diet.
“The eating plan encourages you to eat lots of tasty, filling foods like pasta, rice, potatoes and lean meat and fish, you are never hungry and no foods are banned so there’s no deprivation. I couldn’t believe I’d found a way to lose weight without starving myself.
‘’The support from the group not only for weight loss support with recipes and ideas, but for encouraging me to lead the group has been phenomenal.
“I literally couldn’t ask for a better group of people to be around who continually encourage and praise each other as well as having understanding, as we are all in the same position.
“I think the best part of the group is just the amount of fun you have, it’s one of my favourite social nights of the week.’’
Like Emmaline, Slimming World Consultants are all former members who have lost weight at their local group themselves and groups are set up as micro businesses in the heart of local communities.
Speaking ahead of her first session this evening Emmaline said she could not wait for the new challenges life as a Slimming World Consultant would bring, adding a self-employed franchise was a great option for her.
“I wanted a job that was well paid, flexible, could fit around my studies, and give me first hand experience in nutrition, so launching my own Slimming World group was an ideal option – I feel like I’ve got a brand new career and I can’t wait for my new groups to run now!”

Emmaline’s Slimming World group will be held at Stoke Prior Sports and Country Club every Wednesday from 5pm to 7pm.
