ARTRIX will be one of the venues where The Fitzwilliam Quartet will celebrate its 50th anniversary.
The landmark was reached last year but violinists Lucy Russell and Andrew Roberts, viola player Alan George and cellist Sally Pendelbury where keen to include Bromsgrove in the tour.
On the programme will be Wolf’s Italian Serenade, Shostakovich’s String Quartet No 12 and Beethoven’s String Quartet in C Sharp Minor Op 131.
Bromsgrove Concerts, which is hosting the performance, can no longer claim the programme is a repeat of the one from October 17, 1980, (except for the Wolf, which remains) but the Fitzwilliam did perform Shostakovich No 12 for the group on February 28, 1976.
Tickets for the performance in Artrix’s main auditorium at 8pm next Friday, March 20, are available from bromsgrove-concerts.org.uk.
