THE FOUNDER of the company which went on to become Kev’s Cars and Coaches has died.

Mr Nind died last month aged 85 and was well known as the founder of the company which is much-loved by communities in Bromsgrove, Rubery and south Birmingham.

Peter was born in Shernal Green, Droitwich, in 1940 and grew up in Stoke Pound near Bromsgrove, where he played football for Stoke Works FC.

He attended Watt Close School before meeting his future wife, Pat Williams, at Finstall Youth Centre.

Peter and Pat were married in January 1960 before daughter and Elaine and son Kevin made the family complete. Peter and Pat have since been blessed with three grandchildren, six great grandchildren and one great-great grandchild.

Peter joined Garringtons on Sherwood Road, Bromsgrove, during the 1950s where he worked for around 20 years before being made redundant in 1974.

After being made redundant, Peter used the redundancy payment towards launching a taxi company which he ran until Kevin purchased the firm in 1987.

In the 1990s, under Kevin’s guidance, the company purchased a number of minibuses and coaches as the business continued to grow and expand.

Around eight years ago the company branched out further to running bus services, as they looked to continue moving with the times.
