Danish poker star Gus Hansen was revealed as the first ambassador for the Full Tilt Poker brand ahead of the site’s much anticipated re-launch on the 6th of November.
The 38-year-old was a member of the exclusive Full Tilt Team prior to the company’s shutdown following the infamous Black Friday debacle last year. Hansen joined the website back in 2006 and has stayed loyal to the brand ever since, even amidst serious legal allegations that resulted in a U.S. federal indictment earlier this year.
“Gus is one of the best-known and most respected names in the poker community”, said Sarne Lightman, Head of Marketing at Full-Tilt. “Gus has always embodied the best characteristics of the Full Tilt Poker brand and we are thrilled to have him return as an ambassador.” He went on to note.
The Dane is set to help reinvigorate the beleaguered brand, as well as helping to attract a new generation of poker players to the website. Hansen has won over $11 million in his professional career having participated in a range of internet poker games and live high stakes tables. At the peak of his form, Hansen was once entertaining online audiences by competing against fellow pros nightly. He has battled it out on the virtual felt against some of the biggest names in the industry; Howard Lederer, Chris Ferguson and Phil Ivey.
The pro is also a former World Poker Tour and World Series of Poker Europe bracelet winner and the perfect face to add credibility to the re-branding campaign over the coming months.
Expressing his feelings, Hansen said that he is very excited about representing one of the best poker brands in the industry, adding that Full Tilt Poker offers the best online poker games, innovative poker software, and a thriving online poker community
“I’m very excited to represent the industry’s most authentic poker brand. Full Tilt Poker has the best games, most innovative software and the strongest poker community; to me this feels like coming home.”
Full-Tilt Poker is now live globally with the exception of the U.S., France, Italy, Spain, Denmark, Estonia and Belgium. To find out about other new additions to the website, visit Fulltiltpoker.
