Hi: 9° Lo:4° 7 day

There was a time when Apple computers were unquestionably the best, and windows computers were considered to be just a poor cousin with a sloppy operating system that crashed on a regular basis and all manner of security issues. No professional worth their salt would choose a Windows PC over and Apple Mac.
Even today the latest iMac is still one of the best desktop computers on the market. Everything is getting thinner nowadays (apart from people that is) and the iMac is no exception, coming in at just 5 mm thick and with stunning image quality for looks there is nothing quite like it.
Apple was not only the maker of the best desktop computers, they also made the best laptops, and probably still do. The new MacBook Pro uses the same Retina display technology as the iPhone 5. The 15.4 inch screen has a resolution of 2880 by 1800 pixels, giving it a pixel density of 220 pixels per inch, which we believe is the highest resolution laptop on the market; impressive to say the least. It is almost razor thin (0.71 inches to be precise) and with its Intel quad core 2.7 GHz processor in turbo mode it can be clocked up to 3.2 GHz, setting the standard in powerful laptops.
The latest MacBook Air with a 13 inch screen is also an amazing machine. It is a thin as the MacBook Pro and extremely light and portable. Given it doesn’t have the same performance, but it is around half the price.
So, how do the latest windows PCs step up to the challenge of Apple machines? Certainly they tend to be considerably cheaper, but then we have yet to come across any that have the style of Apple. Frankly from an aesthetic point of view they tend to be rather boring.
From a straight performance point of view Apple and Windows PCs have converged. For instance the latest HP Envy uses an Intel 3.4 GHz processor which can be boosted to 3.9 GHz. The computer comes with a 3 TB hard drive which should be more than enough for most people.
Arguably the best windows based laptop in terms of performance is the Dell Alienware M18X. However its 18 inch screen and heavy build make it rather clunky and it really only appeals to gamers. The Sony Vaio Z is very powerful, and more elegant, but it still does not have the style of an Apple.
Nowadays tablet computers are the new trend, and are outselling both laptops and desktops combined, so perhaps it is time to sell your macbook or sell your laptop for cash and buy a tablet.
