81-year-old Rubery woman dies after crash

A RUBERY pensioner has died after a crash in Bell End last night.

The collision, which happened at 7pm, involved a silver Volkswagen Polo, a blue Citroen C1 and a Ford Mondeo.

It took place on the A491 near the junction of the B4188 and The Bell pub.

The woman, who was 81 and a passenger in the Polo, was taken to Russells Hall Hospital where she was pronounced dead.

The female driver of the Volkswagen and a male passenger were treated for minor injuries at the same hospital.

The female driver of the Citroen was taken to Birmingham's QE Hospital, also with minor injuries.

The Mondeo driver was unhurt in the crash.
