A BROMSGROVE man has raised £166.43 for Macmillan Cancer Support by being sponsored by his colleagues and friends to have his head shaved.

David Kelly, who works for Pasquill which is on the Worcester Road in Bromsgrove, had his locks chopped off last Friday (July 25).

He chose Macmillan because his father has been battling cancer for the last eight years and because it is currently the chosen charity of the company he works for.

He said: “I have had it in mind for the last few months and felt it was a bit more personal than a sponsored walk or cycle ride although I may do something like that in the future.”

He added it felt a bit strange when he woke up on Saturday as he had never been bald before.

Lokesh Patel, Pasquill’s marketing manager, said: “We are very pleased and grateful to David for doing his bit.”

He added that, since March, Pasquill had raised £11,000 for Macmillan from a number of fund-raising events.

Anyone wanting to boost David’s coffers futher can do so by visiting and donating online.
