A BROMSGROVE youth ambassador took a special trip to Brussels last week for a ONE summit.
During the trip, Emily Watkins joined 130 young people from across Europe to lobby newly-elected MEPs to commit to fighting extreme poverty in the next EU Parliament.
Emily spent four days in Belgium’s capital meeting with special guest speakers and learning all about their campaign’s main focuses.
She also took part in a protest outside the European Parliment to encourage MEPs to sign the ONE Vote 2014 pledge.
Emily said the ONE Summit was a great opportunity for all the MEPs to stand up and be counted.
“It was really good - I really enjoyed it.
“It was really interesting to meet ambassadors from across Europe - even though we had never met before it was like we were all friends because we were all very like-minded.
“I hope we can do something similar again,” she added.
