RESIDENTS are being urged to show their support for the armed forces by going to a special flag-raising ceremony at Bromsgrove’s war monument, Crown Green, at 10am on Monday (June 23).

Civic dignitaries and community representatives, including Bromsgrove Ditstrict Council’s Civic Head John Ruck, will be at the event for Armed Forces Day, which this year falls next Saturday (June 28).

Coun Ruck said: “By flying the flag in our community, we are showing our support for the men and women of our armed forces, past and present, who continue to rise to the very difficult challenge of maintaining the defence of the realm.”

Afterwards, there will be tea, coffee and biscuits served at Amphlett Hall.
