THIS fire broke out on Bromsgrove's School Drive this afternoon (Thursday) and looks dangerously close to nearby cars.

Several worried residents contacted Hereford and Worcester Fire and Rescue Service and these pictures were sent into The Standard.

One person said: "You could see the smoke for miles, it looked like a big fire."

A spokesperson for HWFRS confirmed firefighters were currently battling the blaze which had taken hold of hedges and a softwood tree on School Drive.

Crews are using two hose-reels and a main jet.
