MUSIC-LOVERS should head down to Romsley this Saturday (June 14) for the Romstock Festival where there will be plenty of acts performing.

Among them will be Crowded House tribute Crowded Out, replica rock 'n' roll king Elvish, Oasis tribute Okasis, rockability band The Bravo Boys and pop and rock cover band Got the T-Shirt. There will also be performances by 1980s Midlands band Goats Don't Shave and Soul Mania - they perform soul and tamia covers.

And there will be Bob Dylan and Neil Young tributes, Black Country ukelele players the B Cups and local acoustic acts, such as Esther Turner and Sophie Round.

Doors for the event on the playing field off St Kenelm's Road open at 12.30pm and the first band will take to the stage at 1pm.

There will be an outdoor stage and an indoor acoustic one.

As well as the music, there will also be food and drink, an outdoor bar and a bouncy castle for youngsters who go along.

Tickets are just £5 for adults (£2.50 concessions) and cash raised, after overheads, will go towards community youth projects in the area.

Mark Moran, the event's band co-ordinator, said: "The first one was held for the Queen's Diamond Jubliee in 2012 and it was such a success we thought we'd give people the chance to wave their flags again.

"It will be a great day out with live music, food and drink and it is expected to end around 8.30pm so everyone will have time to get back for the England game."
