More than £6,000 of property stolen in Bromsgrove shed raids

MORE than £6,000 worth of property was stolen from four sheds and a storage container in Bromsgrove.

Gardening equipment and tools were among the items taken after the out-buildings in Stourbridge Road, Fairfield, were targeted.

It is thought the raids took place between April 23 and 24, although some of the break-ins were not discovered until a few days later.

The largest single haul saw £3,280 worth of items, including two saddles, two bridles, a generator, a concrete mixer and some electric fencing equipment, stolen from a storage container on a field, accessed from the village hall car park.

The sheds targeted were in gardens backing onto a field and some of the door hinges had been unscrewed so the thieves could gain access.

Property taken from sheds included mowers, pressure washers, drills and petrol driven hedge trimmers - amongst the makes were Stratton, Mountfield and Masport. Two adult bikes were also taken, a specialised 'Allez' road model and a Cube racing bike.

Sgt Louise Meeson said: "It's likely the thieves turned up with a van and broke into the sheds and storage container all on the same night."

She urged anyone who had seen a vehicle being driven on the field off Stourbridge Road, or possibly along Wood Lane, to call her.

She said officers would also like to hear from anyone who was offered items matching the descriptions of the ones listed.

Witnesses or anyone with any information should call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
