A TOP coach who has trained some of Britain's best Olympic athletes has been charged with 12 counts of indecent assault against a girl under 16.
Darrell Bunn from Marlbrook, Bromsgrove, is also facing three counts of taking a child from the lawful control of their parents.
The 64-year-old, who is a retired PE teacher from Colmers School and Sixth-Form in Rednal, was arrested in December by police after allegations were made by the alleged victim.
Bunn was accused of committing the offences in 1986 and will appear at Birmingham Magistrates' Court on Thursday, May 22.
Headteacher Barry Doherty said the school could not comment on the case but emphasised the alleged offences had no connection to Colmers School or any member of its community.
UK Athletics also confirmed Bunn's coaching licenence had been suspended whilst the investigation was ongoing.
