THERE was plenty of swashbuckling fun at Jellybabies Nursery when the youngsters came dressed as pirates for a special day of learning.

The event, which took place at the nursery's base at Longbridge Methodist Church, saw them learn through play.

The children got to talk like pirates, take part in sword fights, walk the plank, climb the rigging, scrub the deck, hunt for treasure and make pirate ships.

It was organised to celebrate volunteer Darren's birthday.
