Sheep stolen from Alvechurch

AN ELDERLY sheep was dragged from its paddock and stolen during the night in Alvechurch.

The sheep, which is ten-years-old, was taken between 6pm on Saturday (April 19) and 10am on Sunday (April 20) from a property in Watery Lane.

Thieves caused damage after pushing over a wooden and wire fence which surrounded a paddock at the rear of the home where two sheep were kept.

Marks on the grass showed where the animal, which is worth about £10 and is believed to be a family pet, had been dragged away.

A spokeswoman from West Mercia Police said the animal had no value on the market and would have most likely been distressed during the incident.

She added anyone who saw a sheep wondering around or knew someone who had recently acquired one should contact police.

Anyone with any information should contact Redditch Police on 101 quoting incident number 294S- 20-04-14.
