A BROMSGROVE teenager was one of the lucky 25 youth ambassadors from across the country to tour 10 Downing Street in London last week.

The special day was organised as a part of the launch for the Youth Ambassador’s campaign which will now last for the next six months.

During her visit Emily Watkins received training on media advocacy, lobbying and using social media.

The 17-year old also heard talks from guest speakers Liz Ford, the Guardian development’s deputy editor, Joana Cruz-Schilling, from the European Commission’s humanitarian aid and development office, and Edith Bowman.

The group of youths also paid a visit to the Department for International Development where they met and questioned Lynne Featherstone, a Parliamentary Under Secretary of State.

Emily said: “The ONE Youth Ambassador launch has taught me a lot, and I have met some really interesting people. I really enjoyed my time in London and I still cannot believe I got to go around Downing Street.”
