A BURGLAR caused £700 worth of damage breaking into an Indian restaurant in Hagley during the early hours of Saturday morning (April 12).
Before the alarms were set off, it is believed the raider spent more than an hour, between 12.45am and 2am, forcing his way into Shenapur, on Worcester Road, through the fire door at the back.
It is thought the burglar, who was slim, wearing a black jacket, a white t-shirt and light coloured trousers, accessed the premises through the gardens of homes on the Kidderminster Road and left the same way. Although the would-be thief was forced to leave empty-handed, a substantial amount of damage was done to the fire door.
West Mercia Police have released a CCTV image of a man who they wish to speak to about the incident and have asked anyone who may know him to contact them immediately.
PC Ian Heeks said: "CCTV shows people walking past the premises while the alarm was audible so it is likely someone may have seen the suspect before or after the offence.
"I am particularly interested in any suspicious vehicles seen around the time."
Witnesses or anyone with information should call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
