STUDENTS, parents and teachers have been celebrating after Parkside Middle School was awarded the best ever Ofsted in its history.

The results for the February inspection were announced earlier this week.

The school was given an overall 'good' in all categories and not only met the new marking criteria but improved on its effectiveness, achievement and teaching.

All the students were praised for their exemplary behaviour and will be treated with a non-uniform activity day at the end of term.

The report praised the school's leavers who were achieving well above the national average, the good attitudes pupils had towards learning and the school's positive and encouraging approach.

Headteacher Neil Mills said: "With the new inspection regime being tougher than ever, achieving this outcome recognises everyone's hard work and commitment to serving our children and families to the best of our abilities."
