BROMSGROVE'S new Homebase store will open its doors at 9.30am on Friday (April 4).
Chidlren from several local schools will be mini VIPs for the ceremony and one lucky one will get to cut the ribbon.
The store on the Brook Retail Park, Sherwood Road, has brought 36 new jobs to the area and there will be a 25 per cent off all day today.
It has a new decorating ideas and advice centre offering touch-screen technology to transform the look of rooms in their homes and a free interior design service is also available, where City and Guilds trained decorating consultants can help them create personalised mood boards using real swatches of flooring, tiling, wallpaper and paint materials.
It also features a garden centre, Grow Your Own Zone, a plant zone and building zone and the store is Wi-Fi enabled and colleagues have been equipped with tablet devices and headsets to help communication and customer service.
Paul Loft, Managing Director for Homebase said: “Investment in our stores and use of technology is a vital part of our long-term plan to offer a customer experience that can’t be found anywhere else.
“We’re also committed to the on-going development of customer service and colleague training, which is a key part of the new store format and a major part of Homebase’s development.”
