BURGLARS broke into a Bromsgrove flat and stole two televisions, an X-Box and two mobile phones while a woman slept on her sofa.
It is believed the intruder gained access to the flat on Alderley Road, Bromsgrove, through an unlocked front door sometime between 9.30pm on Saturday (April 5) and 2am on Sunday (April 6).
Following the incident, the police are reiterating warnings to residents to ensure their homes are secure when they go to bed or stay away from home.
Det Insp John Cashion, from West Mercia Police, said a fifth of burglaries in north Worcestershire happened because of unlocked doors and windows.
"In many cases homes are occupied at the time, but residents are asleep or in another room.
"This is a year-round problem, but now the weather is improving it is worth reminding householders to ensure doors and ground floor or easily accessible windows are secure.
"Many burglars are opportunists and much prefer to simply open a door and walk into a house, rather than risk being seen or heard breaking in."
Witnesses or anyone with any information should call 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
