A BROMSGROVE woman has appeared before Redditch Magistrates after being charged with dishonestly obtaining refunds from department stores totalling thousands of pounds.
Ruby Baines, formerly known as Nina Tiara and also Nina Dalman, of Woodcote Green Farm, Woodcote Lane, is alleged to have got the funds back from Debenhams and Marks & Spencer for goods she claimed had not been delivered and then returned the items in store for a second refund.
The 44-year-old was charged with three counts of fraud and brought before the court on Tuesday (April 1) after a five-month investigation by West Mercia Police.
The charges claimed that, to make financial gain, she made false representations to the stores to say the goods had not been received and was entitled to a refund.
The offences are alleged to have been committed between August 2009 and April 2013.
Baines pleaded not guilty to all three charges and was released on court bail to appear before Worcester Crown Court on July 22.
