A CHARITY World Cup themed five-a-side challenge will take place at Bromsgrove School on May 31.
The event has been organised by Kimal PLC which will be holding a variety of fund-raising activities throughout this year to celebrate its 50th birthday - that falls in November.
The Bromsgrove company has set itself an ambitious challenge to raise £50,000 in its 50th year for Make a Wish.
The charity's aim is to offer magical wishes to children aged between three and 17 who are fighting life-threatening conditions.
Kimal, which oversees, manufactures, sells and distributes essential and often life-saving medical products to hospitals across the world, has been a family firm from the beginning and now employs 230 people at sites in Bromsgrove, Droitwich and Uxbridge.
The five-a-side contest is open to single sex and mixed teams and each one can have a maximum of eight players, as long as they are all listed on the team sheet. In celebration of this year's international showpiece in Brazil, each of the teams taking part will be given a country name on the day, drawn at random, and Bromsgrove will have its very own World Cup.
Steve Minnett who has organised the tournament said: "Bromsgrove School has been fantastic in allowing us to use its facilities.
"It is great that a well-known Bromsgrove employer is supporting another in its charity fund-raising efforts.
"It would be fantastic if we could get some teams from around Bromsgrove come out and support a very worthy cause."
Admission is £50 per team and anyone wanting more information or an application pack can email Steve at email@example.com or call him on 07977 250511.
