HEARTLESS burglars have stolen jewellery and a number of sentimental and irreplaceable medals from an elderly couple in Hunnington on Friday (March 28).

The incident happened between 2pm and 3.30pm when thieves forced the window of the conservatory.

Among the items stolen were a gold bracelet watch which was a retirement gift from Oldbury firm Accles and Pollock and was inscribed with the company name, the recipient’s name, and the years 1945 to 1970.

Also stolen was an RAF cap with badges on it, a nap sack with an RAF number on it, a Packard Bell laptop, a TomTom sat nav, a gold and diamond solitaire engagement ring, a gold band wedding ring, and a pair of cufflinks featuring two small Spitfire planes and the RAF logo.

Det Con Vicky Collier of West Mercia Police said the victims were very distressed and added that scenes of crime officers were carrying out house-to-house inquiries.

Witnesses or anyone with any information on the stolen items should call DC Collier on 0300 333 3000 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111. Alternatively visit www.crimestoppers-uk.org and convey the information there.
