STAFF at Bromsgrove’s Blue Cross were delighted to receive a basket full of treats for their homeless pets from a young girl.

Animal lover Grace McArthur visited the centre with her mum, explaining she had held a fund-raising bake sale and donated her pocket money to make the basket full of toys and treats for the cats and dogs.

As soon as she explained where the package had come from, the pair left and now staff there want to publicly thank Grace for what she did.

Robbi Chaudhuri, the centre’s manager, said “They make such a difference to our animals, helping to make their stay a happier one while we find them loving new homes.

“We are extremely grateful to anyone who can help support our work and help the animals we care for.

“Here at Blue Cross Bromsgrove we rehome around 400 homeless dogs and cats every year.

“Our charity receives no Government funding and we are totally reliant on public donations.”
