BROMSGROVE'S new Pets at Home store on Sherwood Road, Aston Fields, will be officially opening on March 27.
The company has spent more than £375,000 investing in its latest shop, which is its 374th in the country.
The new Pets at Home is employing 12 local people at the store and the firm had more than 500 applicants for those positions.
After going through a number of stages to assess their compatibility, those recruited will be given the option to gain specialist qualifications in pet care during their time with Pets at Home.
The shop will be 7,341sq ft and area manager Adam Wilcock said there was a strong demand from the town for the company to open a branch in Bromsgrove.
"We’re very pleased to have been able to grant them their wish.
“Pets at Home is committed to recruiting from the local area and I’m pleased we’ve found a team of talented individuals in Bromsgrove.
"They’re all extremely passionate about pets and can’t wait to get started.”
Store manager Andy Thursdance has been with Pets at Homes for more than nine months and previously worked at the Ashby de la Zouch branch.
He said it had been a busy few months and now the staff could not wait to open the doors and welcome new customers.
