A POLICE car has been damaged in a pursuit in Bromsgrove.

The vehicle was chasing down a Kia Picanto which had in it three people who had carried out a theft from bromsgrove's Halfords.

Officers were called to the Birmingham Road store about 7.15pm last night (Tuesday) where two men and a woman had stolen a tool kit worth £160.

Police saw the Picanto in Rubery where it failed to stop and sped towards Birmingham, causing other vehicles to take evasive action.

It then rammed the police BMW estate on the Pershore Road, Selly Park, where the pursuit was brought to an end.

The two officers in the vehicle were uninjured, but the BMW was damaged.

Witnesses or anyone with information to the incident should call PC Mark Hollingworth at West Mercia Police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
