A WOMAN was threatened with a spirit level and a piece of wood and spat at during a road rage incident which happened on the M42 near Bromsgrove.

It happened about 5pm yesterday (Thursday) as the 41-year-old was driving her Mitsubishi Shogun along the southbound carriageway.

Another car - thought to be a red Peugeot 406 - undertook her and those in there started making abusive gestures at her and throwing items at her vehicle.

Both cars left the motorway at junction 1 and, whilst she was waiting on the slip road at the traffic lights, a male passenger got out of the other car, took the 3ft long spirit level and the 3ft piece of wood from the boot and threatened her with them. He also spat in her face.

The woman was extremely shaken by the incident, but, luckily, was not hurt.

The man was white, aged about 35, and of medium build, with short fair hair. He was wearing green work trousers with lots of pockets and a jumper.

Witnesses or anyone with any information should call PC Laura Wright on 101 on 0800 555 111. Alternatively, visit www.crimestoppers-uk.org - the Crimestoppers website.
