HEARTLESS thieves stole a swing from a garden in Sidemoor that was a present for a little girl's second birthday.
The Standard was contacted by mum Jade Best about the theft which took place at the house in Melbourne Road at some point between 11pm on Wednesday (February 19) - the day of Chloe's birthday - and 4am yesterday morning (Thursday).
The Tesco Plum 2-in-1 swing cost £45 and was still in its purple and white box in Chloe's Wendy house when it was stolen.
Jade said: "We couldn't believe it when we found it was gone - it was very heavy and not easy to carry.
"I did hear a back gate when I was in bed, but I thought it was just one of the neighbours.
"Chloe loves swings and had asked for a new one for her birthday - she has a baby swing but she has outgrown that.
"Her grandparents take her to the park and she is always on the swings there.
"We just want whoever has taken her birthday present to do the right thing and bring it back."
A West Mercia Police spokesperson said: "It is quite sad that a child's birthday present has been taken in this way and we would urge anyone who saw anything or anyone with any information to call us on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111."
