POLICE want to speak to a woman who was walking her dog in Rubery when she witnessed a suspected burglar fleeing the scene of his crime with a hold-all full of stolen items.
The incident happened on February 17 when the raider targeted two neighbouring properties in Brook Road.
The suspect was seen by the dog walker at 5pm leaving one of the houses with the bag and being challenged by the owners.
He dropped the bag and ran off, escaping via The Avenue, Heron Way and Callowbrook Lane, which he got to by vaulting a garden gate.
The woman walking her dog told the burglary victim she saw the man jumping a metal railing between Callowbrook Lane and the A38. She said she then saw him run across the A38.
Police would like to speak to her as she may have further information which could help catch the culprit.
In the one burglary, items, including PlayStation games, costume jewellery, a piggy bank, an iPod, and Apple keyboard, were stolen after the back kitchen door was forced to gain access to the home. The bag and contents were later recovered.
In the second one, the raider smashed glass in the kitchen door to get in, but nothing was stolen.
The dog walker who saw the suspect, any other witnesses or anyone else with any information should call Det Con Tony Flannagan on 101 or Crimestoppers 0800 555 111.
Alternatively contact Crimestoppers via the www.crimestoppers-uk.org website.
