A BROMSGROVE pensioner has been charged with conspiracy to import class A and class B drugs and money laundering.
The action was taken against Robert Whitehouse, of Dusthouse Lane, Finstall, after a series of arrests on Wednesday morning (February 12) as part of a probe into a major conspiracy to import illegal drugs into the UK.
Ten people were arrested on suspicion of being part of an operation to smuggle cannabis, amphetamines and MDMA into the country.
A 66-year-old woman and a 54-year-old man from Worcestershire who were also held in conjunction with money laundering were released on bail pending further inquiries.
All those charged will appear tomorrow morning (Friday) at Birmingham Magistrates Court.
