THIS was the scene in Timberhonger Lane on Tuesday (February 11) after the heavy deluge.
The picture was sent in by a resident who said it was a timely reminder to residents to submit their views on the controversial proposal to build 490 properties in nearby Whitford Road. The deadline for comments is tomorrow (Friday, February 14).
She told The Standard: “The flooding was at the bottom of the field where the 490 homes are planned for.
“We saw a driver who did not realise how deep it was and got stuck in the floodwater.
“Luckily a Land Rover was coming the other way and managed to pull him out.”
And she said she felt - if the development went ahead - the risk of flooding to the homes already there and the new properties would be even greater as there would be nowhere for the water to run to.
Those wanting to have their say should type ‘Whitford Road’ into the search box at http://appuview.bromsgrove.gov.uk/online-applications/ or email email@example.com using the application reference 13/0479.
