New members can enjoy nights with the Round Table

A BROMSGROVE club for men aged between 18 and 45 is looking for new members.

The town’s branch of the Round Table is hoping those still looking to do something new in 2014 will give the organisation a go.

Bromsgrove Round Table vice chairman Jon Lear said there was probably a lot of potential new members out there who knew of the club but not necessarily what it did.

Many people link the Round Table to the annual Santa’s sleigh where a large amount of cash is raised for good causes but, said Jon, there was a lot more to the club than the charity work.

Recently, members have tried their hand a shooting, visited a brewery, gone karting and enjoyed a curry cookery demonstration.

“Locally, membership is growing, and we have already seen one new member this year, with several more currently trying us out.

“But we want to make sure more people know we are here and what we are about.

“Our members come from a variety of backgrounds, and join Round Table for a number of reasons.

“It really is a chance to have a good time and meet some new people.

“We meet fortnightly, and do a range of activities that you just wouldn’t get to access to on your own.”

Cait Allen, Chief Executive of Round Table, said “We have record numbers of people wanting to join their local club, and this is particularly the case in the Midlands.

“We think this is because Midlanders are very community-minded, but also know how to have fun.”

Those who think they could be interested can go along to one of the meetings and see what it is like.
