THE HUSBAND of Karen Wild who died after being stabbed at her Hanbury home has described her as a 'brilliant mother' and 'all you could wish for in a wife'.
Paramedics and police were called to the home in School Road about 4.30pm last Thursday (January 30) after reports of a woman with serious stab wounds.
Despite the best efforts of paramedics, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
Speaking to The Standard, Ian Wild said Karen would do anything for the town and its community.
"Karen was the kind of person who never came with problems, always solutions.
"She never found fault with anything and always looked for ways of improving them."
Karen and Ian were part of Save a Lido Today (SALT) which was created to return Droitwich's outdoor pool to the town - a campaign that was won in 2007 when the popular attraction reopened.
Ian said Karen, who was 43 and originally from Kidderminster, loved Droitwich and made it her home.
He added his fondest memories were of him and Karen enjoying spending time together with their children.
"We were married for 13 years but we managed to fit a whole lifetime's worth of activities into that 13 years."
And he said, since the incident, everyone - both friends and strangers - had been so supportive.
"We went to Waitrose in Droitwich and we were stopped by so many people who said they could not believe what had happened."
He added they also spoke of their fond memories of Karen.
Lian Wild, from School Road, was due to stand at Worcester Crown Court on Tuesday (February 4) accused of the killing.
But his honour Judge Juckes QC was told the 22-year-old was too unwell to appear in court and the hearing was carried out in his absence.
He remains in custody and is set to stand trial at Birmingham Crown Court on July 28 following permission from the circuit judge.
