A CYCLE South Brum volunteer open morning is being held on Wednesday (February 5).
The event takes place at 10am at Northfield EcoCentre and follows the Cycle South Brum movement winning £50,000 from the People's Millions to get people on their bikes for commuting or pleasure.
As part of the scheme, bikes will be available for free hire, there will be led bike rides and commuter cycle trains will be organised for regular rides to work.
There will also be maintenance workshops, bike ability lessons and finding other ways to encourage people to get on their bike.
Volunteer opportunities include developing monitoring systems for those hiring bikes, working with the local community to promote cycling and developing links with local schools to encourage youngsters to get on their bikes.
Volunteers will also be tasked with developing routes for led rides, setting up groups and organising cycle to school and work days.
Training opportunities are available. Lunch and travel expenses are offered.
