BROMSGROVE'S Brook Retail Park is beginning to take shape, meaning the town could have its Homebase and Pets at Home set up by the spring.

The project, which is costing around £7.5million, is being built on the former site of the Barpro factory on Sherwood Road and, it is estimated, will generate 74 jobs - 50 for Homebase and 24 for Pets at Home.

The 4.2 acre site will include two retail units - 25,000 sq ft and 9,000 sq ft - as well as parking for 161 cars.

Tim Haslam, the director of Chase Commercial, the company leading the project, said: "We are delighted Brook Retail Park is progressing well and is on schedule.

"The local community has been equally pleased to see the units take shape as the scheme is expected to bring new jobs and investment to the area."
