A WOMAN was arrested and stolen items were recovered after a burglary in Alvechurch in the early hours of Wednesday morning (January 8).
The 39-year-old Studley woman was found in a car in Watery Lane, Alvechurch, about 2.25am.
The arrest was made after officers responded to a call from a member of the public who saw someone loading a vehicle outside a property in Weatheroak Hill, off the A435 between Alvechurch and Wythall.
Golfing equipment and power tools taken in that burglary were found, along with other items which are thought to have been stolen from another premises.
They included a customised skateboard, a fishing rod and gardening equipment.
The woman was taken to Kidderminster Police Station for questioning and was then released on police bail until March 5, pending further inquiries.
Other items stolen from a garage at that property were recovered after the arrest - among them were a McCulloch hedge trimmer and a leaf blower/vacuum of the same make.
Det Con Cheryl Jones, from Redditch CID, said officers believed those items were stolen from other garages, sheds and outbuildings in or around Weatheroak Hill, probably the same evening, and she appealed for people to come forward and identify them.
“People don’t necessarily go into their outbuildings at this time of year due to the bad weather so they might not even realise they have been burgled.
"We would ask people to check their sheds and garages and let us know immediately if they find anything missing and suspect that any of the items we have seized may belong to them."
She said she was grateful to the person who reported the suspicious activity but added she wanted to hear from anyone else who saw anything on Tuesday night or in the early hours of Wednesday.
