THE FAMILY of a mother-of-four who died on the A435 Alcester Road at 7pm last Tuesday (December 17) have said they are devastated by her death and cannot believe it has happened.

Ceri Williams, 35, of School Road, Billesley, who was single and had three daughters and a son aged between nine and 12,was walking on the northbound stretch of the carriageway between the M42 and Becketts Island.

In a statement released through the police, her mum Beverley Williams said she was a loving and outgoing person who would do everything she could for her family.

“We are going to try to keep things as normal as we can and celebrate Christmas for the sake of her kids because that’s what Ceri would have liked.

“Ceri had been shopping with friends and family at Becketts Farm earlier on the day she died and we believe she was trying to walk across the carriageway to a fuel station when it happened.

"We would ask anyone who noticed her there or saw what happened to help the police investigation by contacting them.”

Ceri enjoyed being around friends and family and watching soaps on television.

She was brought up in Billesley and was educated at Our Lady of Lourdes Catholic Primary School in Yardley Wood and then at Swanshurst School in Billingsley.

The majority of her five brothers and two sisters still live in the West Midlands.

“We are all devastated by Ceri’s death and we can’t believe this has happened," the statement added.

Witnesses or anyone with any information should call the Operation Patrol Unit at Rubery Police on 101, quoting the incident reference 596-S-171213.
