A BROMSGROVE couple have had an extra special festive season when their son was born at the Alexandra Hospital on Christmas Day.
Samuel James Hillier was due to arrive on Thursday (January 2) but he turned up eight days early and was delivered with a water birth at 1.55pm last Wednesday (December 25), weighing in at 7lb 6oz.
The youngster is doing well and now settling down in Charford with mum Kristina, dad Tony and big sister Scarlet, who is four.
The labour started in the early hours of Christmas morning and Tony and Kristina went to the hospital at around 9am.
Tony's parents were visiting for the festive season and were on hand to look after Scarlet.
When the couple got to the Alex, they were the only ones there.
"The midwives were over the moon that they had someone in on Christmas Day.
"We would like to say a special thanks to all midwives who helped us on our special day.
"It's the best present we could have hoped for," added Tony.
The pair had their Christmas dinner and festivities on Boxing Night.
