Eight rare chickens stolen from Hanbury

By Tristan Harris Wednesday 01 January 2014 Updated: 04/01 00:03

EIGHT rare breed chickens, including a £100 award-winning cockerel, have been stolen from Hanbury.

The brown and gold birds were taken from pens in unlocked sheds in Park Hall Farm at some point between 12midnight and 6am on New Year's Eve (December 31).

It is thought the three cockerels and five hens, which had been bred specifically for competitions, were carefully selected by the thieves who seemed to know what they were looking for.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone with any information should call 101, quoting 172-s-311213, or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
