YOUNGSTERS from Parkside Middle School took centre stage at a Christmas carol concert held by the Stroke Association last Wednesday (December 11).

The night began with a mulled wine and mince pie reception at the Life After Stroke Centre, on Church Lane, before everyone took part in a candlelit procession up to St John's Church for the concert.

Members of the audience then got into the Christmas spirit and enjoyed singing some traditional carols with the church's choir and Parkside's little vocalists.

Guests were also impressed with Rev Chris Wingfield's special service which featured an inspiring biscuit themed story.

Claire Benfield, regional fund-raiser for The Stroke Association, said: "It was fantastic - we are really pleased with how it has gone.

"The children were brilliant and we hope they will be able to join us again next year."
