A FESTIVE open day is being held between 12midday and 4pm tomorrow (Saturday) at Hillfields Animal Sanctuary in Blackwell.
Those who go along will be able to enjoy mince pies, hot chocolate and mulled wine and meet some of the 300 animals which are housed at the centre, including horses, goats, pigs, sheep, ducks, chickens, dogs and cats. There will also be face-painting for youngsters and stalls selling cakes and bric a brac.
Linda Tudor founded he sanctuary on Greenhill 30 years ago. Most of the animals there have been rescued from cruelty or neglect or because their owners are unable to look after them anymore.
The centre is hoping to raise as much cash as possible at the event to help feed and house the animals through the winter months. Admission is £2 for adults and £1 for children.
