AN INQUEST has been opened and adjourned into the death of a Bromsgrove man whose body was found in submerged car in the River Avon off Boat Lane.

Anthony Taylor was discovered in the car by police officers on Sunday (November 24); he had been missing since the early hours of Thursday morning (November 21) after a night out in Worcester.

The 22-year-old recently moved to Charford from Worcester.

Devastated close family and friends of Mr Taylor left heartfelt and emotional tributes at the scene at Hampton Ferry with one mourner saying: “I wish you could have talked to me but I hope you are at peace now Ant, Rest in Peace.”

Friends of the young man also took to Facebook to share their memories of him, with one person saying: “So sad. I didn’t know Tony just seen him around but so sad for this poor lad and his family must be going through hell, RIP thinking of ur family at this very sad time xx”

Another person said: “RIP tony, hopefully you’ve found peace now... I just wish that you’d have spoken to somebody about whatever was on your mind.”

Worcestershire coroner Geraint Williams opened the inquest on Wednesday (November 27) and adjourned it for reports and a post-mortem to be carried out.
