A RUBERY schoolboy has raised over £600 for Cancer Research UK by shaving his head
Jack Carmell from Waseley Hills High School decided to shave his head to honour the memory of fellow student Jay Demetriou who recently lost his battle with leukaemia.
Teachers, students, family members and friends all chipped in to help the 12-year-old beat his initial target of £100 six times over.
Mother Emma Carmell said he just came home one day and told her he wanted to do something constructive because he was so touched by Jay’s story.
She added: “I’m just so proud.”
